Syncronisation in 6 hours

We were recently engaged to syncronise a PostgreSQL database with a reporting instance for one of our clients.

This type of work although not usually complicated is often fiddley and therefore time consuming (network access, server details, user account(s), relevant access) for both source and destination environments.

As we have worked with this client previously, they were able to pre-emptively gather the details they knew we would want and setup accounts for the task.

Even with this great starting, we were surprised with when we had a completed sync 6 hours later (Dev to Dev environments so not full dataset).

Our data scans profiled the data correctly for over 95% of fields (the remaining 5% required text / string size adjustments which are also dynamically set). While our auto indexing resulting in correct projections for all but two tables (these were tables that had no columns, we now manage this).
